After fans waiting for what seemed liked an eternity, the visuals and audio to a Bandana Ya Esir a song that pays homage to the late rap legend and pioneer Esir who would have been 40 years this year has finally premiered.
The song features sounds the old school (Nameless & Habib /Esir’s brother ) and the new school Nelly The Goon/Dmore (Ochungulo Family& Trio Mio) and is produced by famed producer Motif The Don.
The laid back and funky tune starts with samples from Esir legendary tune Moss Moss followed by an opening verse from Nelly The Goon who sets the pace with a gengetone vibe delivering the songs hook.Nameless clarifies why he is still a force to be reckoned with 20years after his debut , Habib Esir’s younger brother brings his late brothers fiery swahili rap vibe .
Dmore also laces the tune with ta gengetone vibe that he is known for ,Trio Mio briefly , talks about the comparisons between him and Esir that made him trend recently on Twitter applauding and castigating them adding that he is the new change that the Kenyan rap industry has been longing for.
The visuals feature an star studded appearance’s from Kenyan music icons who worked with Esir such as Talia Oyando ,Big Pin ,Wahu , Jua Kali , Nyashinski ,Wyre among others.
